In recognition of the initiative ‘ Provision of Suitable Infrastructure, ramps, and wheelchairs for the differently abled persons in public buildings, etc’ taken by the Governor Secretariat, the Department of Product and Industrial Design, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore has arranged a Guest Lecture on the ‘Design of Built Environments for Differently Abled People’. The lecture comprehensively covers the Understanding of Differently-Abled Individuals, their Legislation and Standards, and basic principles of universal design, shedding light on best practices from design disciplines of Product design, industrial design, architecture, and urban design. The Chairperson Associate Professor Dr. Ing Atif Bilal Aslam, lecture organizer Ms. Asma Khalid, MPID Students, and Final year students of Product and Industrial Design are thankful to Dr. Raaeha Abidi, CEO Abideez & Executive Committee Member (Education Nominee) PCATP for sharing her knowledge and experience in design. It is hoped that the seminar will be a kick-start in the series of initiatives taken for an equitable built environment accessible to all.
